Soccer - Business or Pure Sport

Wednesday, July 15, 2009 ·

If I have to ask you regarding those title above, what is your answer? Business or pure sport?. We can not deny that it is turning into a cash machine, sport and business mix together into it. without money, publishing, and drama, people will loss their interest to soccer, but i am sure that there are some people that have pure interest to soccer, me as example. As fans of Premier League especially Manchester United, I always follow their news even they lost their match or any sad even occur. Football club nowdays like to hire players for two reasons, first would be needs of team, field strategy and his/her skills to improve the play. Second would be marketing interest, it is not a secret anymore that Asian players were hire due to second reasons, they mabye will have difficulty to compete with European Players, but sure they have a lot more fans, and it means alot more purchase of jersey by fans. Even so, not all Asian players that pointed to second reasons, some players were hire for their skill and maybe a little bit of Sales / marketing purpose , players like Park in MU, Hidetoshi Nakata former player for Perugia, AS Rome and recently Shunsuke Nakamura for Espanyol. They give pride for their friends and country when they play in European League. Interesting issue.......
